In The Division, by Jerry W. Amos, readers find an edge-of-their-seat thriller that combines religious history, terrorism, and the complexities of modern-day geopolitics in one fascinating novel. After being diagnosed with terminal cancer, James Paulson decides to visit Jerusalem. As he stands before the Temple Mount in Old Jerusalem. a stranger slips a manuscript into his hand and disappears. Before he can confront this stranger, the man is murdered. After Paulson dies, his daughter, Catherine, learns that his will includes a request that she pursue and solve this mystery. Accompanied by attorney Jonathan Keller, Catherine finds herself in Israel...and in peril. How could she have predicted that a plot was being hatched that could change the world? Or that this scheme was the brainchild of a Jew, a Muslim and a fundamental Christian working together to unleash the Armageddon prophesized in the Bible? Added to this intrigue, the three cannot continue with their destruction until they find the manuscript. As Catherine and Jonathan become mired in the nefarious plan, they begin to understand that the Abrahamic religions—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam—hold the answers. Will they find the solution in time to stop this madness? In this gritty and thoroughly entertaining novel, nothing...and no one...is quite what it seems.

A summary of the plot, content, etc. of The Decision can be read in thr "Editorial Review" included on this site. For myself the Decision was a pleasure to read as its content is enjoyable, informative and instructive as to the Abrahamic religions of the world...Christianity, Judaism and Islam. The author's life-long study of religion and his career in the legal profession combine to afford the reader a very easy-to-read, intriguing novel as there are no hanging questions as to meanings or explanations of any of the book's subject matter.
The main characters are strong and well-suited to their respective parts, especially Jonathan, Catherine, the Rabbi and the Muslim, Bashir. But it seemed all the minor characters were just as impressive, and they were numerous. The book's early setting is in one of America's most unique cities, Charleston, SC. But a majority of the setting is in the Middle East, especially Israel, where the "Dome of the Rock" is a major attraction and is the location for the final outcome of The Decision. The Middle East allows the author to disclose his vast knowledge of relevant histories, meanings and present-day realities of the Abrahamic religions.
The Decision is packed with action and intrigue and has a happy ending. But in today's real world, as we in America have seen, anything can happen. That is why the opinion here is that The Decision could be made into a very informative and action packed cinematic thriller as a cinematic production. Such a production may make us all more religiously tolerant.

There is a more history than plot, but it's wonderful. The sweeping histories from hundreds BC running in several paragraphs to today were breathtaking!
I want to read this again! In a study group!
The thriller plot made an excellent excuse to learn the historical and geographical significance.
