Okay, first off, the hero annoyed me. He kept thinking about how he loved his ex-wife and could not feel like that again. Well I am here to write that I do not believe he loved his first wife the way he thinks. He admits to knowing her since childhood and that their marriage was one without strife, but that they had distance problems after he could not get her pregnant. I am sorry but the love I see that he has for the heroine is the REAL thing. I believe that the deep love and affection he had for his ex-wife was one of a best friend nature, maybe innocent first love, but not the lasting kind. He may have felt a bit of romantic love but to me, it was a deep friendship love that masqueraded as the real thing until the heroine came around. I think that if the ex-wife was still alive, she would either be an ex now or the hero would have felt conflicted with his feelings for the heroine. I do see the heroine's point about how he should not be dancing with other women while hiding her from everyone. It does seem like he is ashamed of her. I also do not get the part where he says he is not a playboy and that the heroine knows that better than anyone. He literally tells the reader that it has been 4 years since his first wife's death and then has been with the heroine for 6 months. He then tells the heroine that she should know she is special to him because she is the only woman who has lasted past a night or two in his bed. How is that not a player??? IT IS!!! They were good together though and I like how she did not just roll over. She was brash and upfront about what she wanted and was honest to a fault. The hero was just scared of opening his heart again because he had lost what he thought was his first love and best friend and he did not want to go through that again. He did love her from the start and the reader can see this but he is stubborn!!! The hero's mom and dad were aggravating. The hero's dad had an affair right after he married the mom because he was feeling guilty for loving the hero's mom after the death of his first wife. Of course the hero's mom divorced him and the hero's dad has been in "agony" since. I say "agony" because even though I see it in his actions when she is around, he has had mistresses over the years instead of trying to get her back. I do like that he was seriously regretful of his actions and that he realized he loved his wife but it was too late. He could have begged her to forgive him and I am pretty sure she would have come back eventually, but he never did. He went through the last 2 decades feeling guilty and deserving of the pain in his life than to fight for his woman. He was a terrible example for his sons and it is no wonder they were so screwed up when it came to love . Their mom was the saving grace for them and without her, the sons could have kissed their loves goodbye.

Contemporary romance with unprotected sex (thus the title of the book).

An OK read. Danette, best friend to Tara in "Wedding Vow Of Revenge", gets her own story. Somehow, she gets involved with a Sicilian prince & CEO of a large shipping company (her boss!). She has her own personal issues to get through, as well as Marcello's issues. They discuss these issues over & over, until your head is going around & around. There's a lot of talking in this one & not much other action. Still, it's a LM, so it's at least well written.

The cover shows a blond heroine. Danette is described as having "mousy brown" hair. The title is typical Harlequin.
I would tell all readers that love romana that this book is a must. Lucy wrote another great book. A must read.
This was almost the best book I've ever read. The ending should have ended with Dennett and Marcello married and the baby already born. That way the baby could described to the readers and pampered by everyone.
Loved it the chemistry between Danette & Marcello are great their little arguements are real entertaining and they both had a great story to tell...

Makes you can't even wait for July for Therese & Claudio's story..I'm just in love with the family altogether

My fav.. line in the book if you don't mind me saying is

" A low sperm count doesn't mean no sperm count" that line made a smile come to my face but anyway when you read the book you will know what i mean...
If you have read other stories by this author you find this one super predictable. Overall still a great read.
This is the second book of the Scorsolini family. This is about Danette and Marcello who have been have a secret affair for over 6 months. He lost his wife years ago and was not about to remarry nor was he going to ever let any of his lovers be harrased by the paps. So His and Danette's love affair was held in secret. That is until she found out she waas pregnant. Now he must convince her to marry him. But with all the secrets kept will they be able to servive the light of day. I enjoyed the story of all three sons. I enjoy Lucy Monroe works.
I love Royal romance story. Lucky Monroe is a great writer and I love most of her stories. This story is very sweet, romance and well written. Like many of Ms. Monroe's stories, her story is about a heroine got pregnant accidentally and then she doesn't believe the hero loves her. The heroine would make the hero pay by begging over and over throughout the story until he proves that he loves her. For example, Danette kept refusing to marry Marcello because she doesn't believe he loves her. She thinks he wanted to marry her because she was pregnant. She makes him beg and wait until the end and then agreed to marry him. I took away one star because of that reason. Otherwise, this is a good read. I enjoyed the story.
