Good story. The science is interesting. Gotta get me a cube with a smart a$s AI. Should be fun an games.
The sci part of the sci fi gets a bit funky in this one. But if you've gotten this far, hell you know you're going to love it. Some authors would benefit from some additional editing, but Jon would say that's just lipstick on a pig...lol

This is book 5 in Jon's history and we see him come up against a new foe the Last Nightmare. Creatures who destroy everything. First we see Jon and a female fighter pilot team up to test Berrillion communications and that was a hoot and we see more from JJ and his humour greatly matches Jon's!! Dorlica is causing more trouble on Azurman so much to sort so little time.
A great read, if you've followed the story like me you'll love this new one very much
I felt this was a 3.5 star book, rounded up to 4 because I've enjoyed the series so far.
I feel the author has entered the trap of a human type person, who takes on beings who have immense power, knowledge and abilities, and manages to defeat them. I've seen it is Star Trek, where Picard always defeats Q, and also here.
Spoilers.
Beings who have been able to destroy 12 universes (not galaxies, but untold millions of galaxies), are suddenly thwarted by our witty mouthed human, who uses technology from yet another technologically incredibly advanced race. It seems totally implausible that the Last Nightmares would be so easily killed, if they could do such powerful feats of destruction.
Like many series', the author has found that as each danger the intrepid American White male hero is vanquished, he needs to up the ante. There's not much higher than beings who are as destructive as gods. Not only are they destroyed, requiring just the last 25% of the book, but the humans are given access to the most powerful machines in the Forever universe. Their next enemy is one they have already defeated several times with just one machine (the vortices). Now they have about 40 of them.
I like the series, but I do wonder if the Happy Days ski jumping high point.
Fingers crossed for the next installment in a few month's time!
